The Housing Heros Awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and changemakers across our sector.
Sanctuary Supported Living is thrilled to announce that two of its exceptional managers have been shortlisted in this year’s national Housing Heroes Awards – a prestigious event that recognises outstanding leadership and community impact within the housing sector.
In a fiercely competitive field of over 350 nominations, Area Service Manager, Kate Shaw, and Local Service Manager, Tanya Keeling, have emerged as leading contenders in the Inspirational Leader of the Year and Inspirational Colleague of the Year, respectively.
Kate oversees operations across nine retirement communities that offer high-quality, self-contained rental and leasehold apartments for individuals aged 55 and older, as well as for those with disabilities or long-term care needs. According to her award nomination, Kate is renowned for her ability to motivate, empower, and inspire those around her, and she has effectively cultivated an environment in which both staff and residents thrive.
Tanya manages The Maples, Howell Road, and a dedicated floating support service in Devon. Drawing on her lived experience as a former resident at Howell Road, she has implemented transformative changes that have significantly enhanced service quality across the region, ensuring that residents receive safe, high-quality, and dignified support. Her exceptional leadership and steadfast dedication to supporting people who have experienced or are at immediate risk of homelessness have truly set her apart.
The Housing Heroes Awards, organised by Inside Housing, honour individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and community-minded action within the housing sector. The winners will be announced on Monday, 23 June 2025 at Manchester Central, coinciding with the opening event for Housing 2025.
"This dual recognition reinforces the organisation's enduring commitment to enhancing the lives of those it supports."
