Double UK Housing Awards shortlisting for Sanctuary Supported Living

1st October 2021

Sanctuary Supported Living

UK Housing Awards

Sanctuary Supported Living is celebrating being shortlisted for not one, but two categories in this year’s prestigious UK Housing Awards 2021.

The supported living arm of Sanctuary has been named as a finalist in the Best Supported Housing Landlord and Homelessness Partnership categories.

The nomination for Best Supported Housing Landlord highlights how Sanctuary Supported Living has developed and delivers housing with support, so that people with learning disabilities, mental health needs or those who have faced homelessness, can look forward to living as independently as possible, no matter their individual needs or challenges they face.

The organisation’s second shortlisting is for Homelessness Partnership, where their nomination highlights how Stanley Grove and Spencer Court homelessness services in Manchester give former rough sleepers the opportunity to turn their lives around.

Part of Greater Manchester’s ‘A Bed Every Night’ initiative, the supported housing services provide more than just a roof over someone’s head. Sanctuary Supported Living staff provide innovative support and long-term solutions, to help break the cycle of rough sleeping and homelessness.

As the housing sector’s most prestigious awards, now in their 25th year, the UK Housing Awards shine a light on the remarkable teams and individuals who have demonstrated a real commitment to the housing sector and whose work has made a valuable impact to the people and communities they serve.

Sara Keetley, Operations Director for Sanctuary Supported Living, said: “I am delighted that our teams’ focus and hard work is being recognised in this way. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, their commitment to maintaining quality, delivering personalised support, and reaching out to the most vulnerable in society, has remained unshaken.

While others are stepping away from supported housing, we believe it’s our duty to provide housing for vulnerable people. We help people to increase their independence, often more than they thought possible, so they can live healthy, happy lives.”
