Sanctuary has completed the transfer of five retirement communities from Your Housing Group (YHG), marking an important milestone in the continued growth of Sanctuary Supported Living (SSL).

The transfer follows a period of detailed due diligence and consultation with YHG residents and colleagues, which received very positive feedback.

The five communities, which provide nearly 600 homes across Merseyside, Cheshire and Staffordshire, are now part of SSL. The addition further strengthens SSL's housing offer for older people and builds on its existing expertise in delivering housing management, care, support and assistive technology services across more than 770 services in England.

As demand for specialist housing and support for older people continues to grow, the transfer represents a significant expansion of SSL's retirement living portfolio and reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality services that help people live independently for longer.

Dave Shaw, Director for Sanctuary Supported Living, said: “The addition of these retirement communities is an important milestone for SSL and reflects our confidence in the future of housing for older people.

Our focus now is on listening, building trust and making sure residents and colleagues feel part of SSL while continuing to enjoy the services and support they value most.

"We're bringing together strong communities, experienced colleagues and a shared commitment to helping people live independently and well. We're excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to building on the excellent foundations already in place.”

Jacque Allen, Chief Executive of Your Housing Group, commented: “We believe our residents will benefit from the wider services Sanctuary can offer in supported living. We would like to thank our residents and colleagues who have contributed to making this transfer a positive and smooth transition, and wish them all the best for the future.”
