Blackberry Court is a brand-new retirement living community within The Maples retirement village in Streethay, near Lichfield, offering rental apartments and bungalows for people aged 55 and over.
Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Blackberry Court has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.

At Blackberry Court, you’ll find:
- One or two-bedroom apartments and bungalows, with open plan lounge and kitchen

- Staff on-site 24 hours a day and assistive technology built in to help you make the most of every day

Accommodation features and facilities
Our building
Blackberry Court has a restaurant, a gym, library, hair and beauty salon, communal lounge and TV area, mobility scooter storage with charging points and a guest suite for visiting family and friends. Residents can also enjoy landscaped gardens with seating areas, designed for relaxation.
Your apartment
Your new home is unfurnished so you can make it your own. We offer one and two-bedroom apartments and bungalows, each with a living room, fitted kitchen and shower room.
Our community
Residents can enjoy a range of social activities and events, making it easy to meet new people and become part of the community. There's no obligation to take part - you can take part as often as you want.
Safety and security
The daytime reception, 24-hour care staff on site and secure door entry to the building and your apartment help you to feel safe and secure.
Technology
There is Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and optional assistive technology is available to complement your lifestyle. This can be purchased at an additional cost.
Renting
Apartments and bungalows are available to rent for one or two people. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Lichfield District Council.

At the heart of Blackberry Court is the 1085 Restaurant, where residents and visitors can enjoy freshly prepared meals in a warm and welcoming setting.
Open for breakfast, lunch, light refreshments and evening dining*, it's the ideal place to meet family and friends, catch up over a coffee or enjoy a relaxing meal as part of the local community.
We regularly offer special menus and themed events throughout the year, and the restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

How do I apply?

We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us.
We’ll help you to complete a housing assessment and affordability form, as you may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent and part of your service charge.
While you’re here, we may assess if you would benefit from care and support services, and our care provider may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Lichfield District Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
