Our building

Dunboyne Court has communal lounges, restaurant, guest suite, games room and a landscaped garden. There are lifts to all floors and level access throughout.

Your apartment

Your new apartment is unfurnished so you can make it your own. It has an open plan lounge, fitted kitchen with fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, oven and hob, one or two double bedrooms and a level-access shower room.

Technology

There is free Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and we can provide assistive technology for extra safety and reassurance, which can be purchased at additional cost.

Rent or leasehold

Apartments are available to rent for one person or two people. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Torbay Council. Leasehold apartments may also be available for private purchase from a current owner.

The curved external façade of the building covered in doors and windows allows an abundance of natural light into the seating area. The mix of chairs situated around the room in a mixture of fabric and leather in lime green, purple and cream. All with wood rectangular coffee tables.

The rooftop balcony is home to a fenced and covered viewing point looking out over Torquay.
Elongated living space using furniture pieces to split into sections. The yellow leather two and three piece sofa are placed next to the large french doors and arranged around the oak styled coffee table with a television on top. A four seater dining table sits at the top of the room in matching yellow leather fabric chairs and an oak circular dining table.
The floral feature wall adds warmth and decoration to the white and beige colour scheme. The bathroom features an assisted bathing bath tub with plenty of space to manoeuvre comfortably with ease, the toilet area is joined but with a separating door for privacy.

Taste restaurant

Our in-house Taste restaurant is open to residents and members of the public from 9am to 4pm, seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and snacks. If you live nearby, enjoy a meal out in our restaurant with your family and friends.

We regularly have special menus to celebrate special occasions throughout the year and our Taste restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

Am I eligible?
 

To be eligible to live at Dunboyne Court, you must:

  • Be aged 55 or over, or have long-term care needs
  • Reside in the local area
  • Have your care and support needs assessed and approved by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust

To be eligible for a leasehold property, you must be aged 55 or over, and reside in, or have a family connection to, the local area.

You will also need to show your passport or other form of identification, to prove you are eligible to rent in the UK. We aim to offer a lively atmosphere and mixed community of people who have a range of care needs. Dunboyne Court may not be suitable if you require a substantial amount of regular nursing care.

How do I apply?
 

  1. Contact us for an application form, or contact Torbay Council’s adult social care team.
  2. We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us.
  3. Once your application has been approved by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, we may assess if you would benefit from care and support services, and our care provider, Agincare, may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Torbay Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
