Located in a residential area of Brixton, Hillyard House provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s.

Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Hillyard House has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.

Our building

Hillyard House has a communal lounge, guest suite, hair salon, shop and a landscaped garden. There are lifts to all floors and level access throughout.

Your apartment

Your new apartment is unfurnished so you can make it your own. It has an open plan lounge and kitchen with oven/white goods, one or two double bedrooms and a level-access shower room.

The daytime reception, 24-hour care staff on site and secure door entry to the building and your apartment help you to feel safe and secure.

Technology

There is free Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and we can provide assistive technology for extra safety and reassurance, which can be purchased at additional cost.

Rent or leasehold

Apartments are available to rent for one person or two people. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Lambeth Council. There are no leasehold apartments available.

  • Central London is only 15 minutes away by bus.
  • The regular bus service, Dial-a-Ride scheme, tube and low-cost taxis make journeys easy.

Applying

Am I eligible?
 

To be eligible to live at Hillyard House, you must:

  • Be aged 55 or over
  • Reside in, or have a family connection to, the local area
  • Be referred by Lambeth Council, after having your care and support needs assessed and approved

We aim to offer a lively atmosphere and mixed community of people who have a range of care needs.

Hillyard House may not be suitable if you require a substantial amount of regular nursing care.

How do I apply?
 

  1. Contact us for an application form, or contact Lambeth Council’s adult social care team.
  2. We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us.
  3. We’ll help you to complete a housing assessment and affordability form, as you may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent and part of your service charge.
  4. While you’re here, we may assess if you would benefit from care and support services, and our care provider, Radis Community Care, may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Lambeth Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
