Located on the outskirts of Gravesend, Wimborne House provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s. 

Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Wimborne House has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.

Wimborne House has a communal lounge, games room, guest suite, salon, and a landscaped garden. There are lifts to all floors and level access throughout.

Your apartment

Your new apartment is unfurnished so you can make it your own. It has an open plan lounge and fitted kitchen, one or two double bedrooms, and a level-access shower room.

Residents can enjoy a range of social activities and events, making it easy to meet new people and become part of the community. There's no obligation to take part - you can take part as often as you want.

The daytime reception, 24-hour care staff on site and secure door entry to the building and your apartment help you to feel safe and secure.

Technology

There is Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and optional assistive technology is available to complement your lifestyle. This can be purchased at an additional cost.

Rent or leasehold icon

Rent or leasehold

Apartments are available to rent for one or two people. Leasehold apartments may also be available to purchase from a current owner. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Kent County Council.

Restaurant and dining

Our on-site restaurant is open to residents and visitors from 9am-3pm, seven days a week* for breakfast, lunch and snacks.  

If you live nearby, enjoy a meal out in our restaurant with your family and friends.  We also have an outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome too. 

We regularly have special menus to celebrate special occasions throughout the year and our restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

You may be eligible for financial support, such as Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, to help cover your rent and part of your service charge.

  1. Contact us for an application form or contact Kent County Council. 

  1. We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us. 

  1. We’ll help you to complete a housing assessment and affordability form, as you may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent and part of your service charge. 

  1. While you’re here, we may assess if you would benefit from care and support services, and the on-site care provider may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Kent County Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
