Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Home Star and the Young Person's Star models.

Our highly-trained staff are on-site seven days a week as stated above, giving residents peace of mind that support is always on-hand.

There is an overnight concierge service seven days a week and an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support.

Residents can also purchase additional telecare technology to further promote their independence.

Additional support includes, supported housing. 

Housing First, providing intensive support to people who are long term or recurrently homeless and have high ongoing support needs.

Floating support to people at risk of facing eviction. Follow-on support when residents move into their own home to live independently.

Rough sleepers outreach, identifying and providing interventions for rough sleepers in the borough.

Through our rough sleepers outreach service, we make contact with rough sleepers to give them the support they need. Anyone who is concerned about a rough sleeper in Thurrock can alert our team using Streetlink.

Sanctuary Supported Living is part of Sanctuary, which is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). The RSH is the government body for the social housing sector. It sets standards for social housing providers and can take action if they’re breached. 

If you’re a customer and you have a problem with one of our services, the first step is to speak to your Local Service Manager, who will try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. If you are still not happy, you can follow our complaints process, which explains how to make a complaint and what to expect from us.  

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Housing Ombudsman Service, which is an independent organisation that deals with disputes between landlords and tenants. 

An application has been submitted for Thurrock Homelessness to be registered with Ofsted, which inspects and regulates services that care for children and young people aged 16+, and checks that they meet quality and safety standards.
