High Street is comprised of six rooms in a shared house and three self-contained one-bedroom flats. We provide support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of mental health needs and learning disabilities.

Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Mental Health Recovery Star and Life Star models, as appropriate.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are on-site seven days a week, during office hours, giving residents peace of mind that support is on-hand. There is also an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support.

  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping
  • Building positive relationships
  • Developing hobbies and interests
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Socialising and community involvement

  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Planning a successful move-on

Additional support services

We also provide follow-on support when residents move on to live independently.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a place at High Street, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Have a mental health need or learning disability
  • Be eligible for a personal budget for support

How to apply

To apply directly, please complete the enquiry form below and ask for an application form. We also accept referrals from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
