Dereham Homelessness Supported Housing has four buildings: Selwyn House, The Barn, The Coachmakers and The Warehouse, which offer a mix of single occupancy bedrooms with shared facilities and single occupancy studio flats. We provide support, including intensive housing management, for adults aged 18 and over, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Four properties spread across one site, with The Coachmakers just over the road from the main site in Dereham. We are within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks, a cinema, a library, and a sports and leisure complex.

A total of ten single occupancy bedrooms with shared facilities and four studio flats for residents with medium to high support needs, plus four self-contained flats for those with lower support needs.

Safety and security

Safety and security

Staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system to ensure residents’ safety and security. There are staff on site overnight.

Support planning

Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Homelessness Outcomes Star model to help residents achieve their aims and goals.

Staff availability

Our highly trained staff are on-site seven days a week, and their hours of work vary according to residents’ needs. There is an overnight concierge, and an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support.

Tailored support, advice and assistance includes

  • Maintaining a tenancy
  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping
  • Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Developing hobbies and interests
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Accessing education, training and work
  • Maintaining health, safety and security
  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Planning a successful move-on

Additional support services

We also provide low level, follow-on support when residents move on into their own independent accommodation.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a place at Dereham Homelessness Supported Housing, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Have identifiable support needs
  • Be committed to engaging with staff and external services

How to apply

To apply directly, please complete the enquiry form below and ask for an application form. We also accept referrals from Breckland Council and other local agencies. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
