Sanctuary Supported Living
The Hilltop House team, recognised for their inclusive approach and commitment to making a real difference in everyday support.
Sanctuary Supported Living is celebrating further recognition after being shortlisted in three categories at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2026.
The National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards recognise excellence in the support of people with learning disabilities, celebrating those who consistently deliver high‑quality care.
In the East, Lynn Clarke, who works at Sidegate Lane, has been shortlisted for the Support Worker Award in recognition of her compassionate, person‑centred approach to care. Lynn has been recognised for going above and beyond to support a resident with a learning disability through her cancer treatment journey.
Also in the East, the Hilltop House team has received a shortlist in the Making a Difference Award category, reflecting the team’s inclusive and proactive approach. The nomination highlights a strong culture of accountability and learning, with staff working together working to balance safety and independence in everyday support.
Meanwhile, in the Northwest, Angie Clay from Cardigan House in Birkenhead has been shortlisted for the Breaking Down Barriers Award. Angie has been recognised for her work removing everyday barriers to inclusion, from improving access and communication to supporting residents to shape their home environment and take part more fully in community life.
"This recognition is about creating spaces where people with learning disabilities feel safe, valued and able to live with confidence."
Director for Sanctuary Supported Living, Dave Shaw, said: “Behind every shortlist is a person or a team who has taken the time to really know the people they support. This recognition is about creating spaces where people with learning disabilities feel safe, valued and able to live with confidence. It’s a privilege to see that work recognised and to work alongside colleagues who care so deeply about making a difference.”
Award winners will be announced at a ceremony on 19 June 2026 at the ICC Birmingham.
