Great British Care Awards Regional Winner Logo

Sanctuary Supported Living has won a top honour at the West Midlands regional finals of the Great British Care Awards.

The Worcester-based national supported housing provider scooped the prestigious Care Employer award during the ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC on Saturday 5 November.

Sanctuary Supported Living owns and manages more than 600 services around the country. It provides supported housing for people with disabilities, mental health needs, young people, and those affected by homelessness or domestic violence, as well as retirement communities.

The organisation won the award for its commitment to its staff and how that contributes to success, empowering them to deliver excellent customer service. It has introduced initiatives designed to support staff to be their best, recognising that when they feel motivated and well-supported, it directly improves customer outcomes.

The results of annual customer satisfaction surveys are consistently high, and Sanctuary Supported Living recently celebrated 14 months of all its Care Quality Commission registered services being rated as “Good” or “Outstanding”.

"I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve received this accolade, which recognises our commitment to residents and staff"

Sara Keetley, Operations Director for Sanctuary Supported Living

Sanctuary Supported Living will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards in March. Sara Keetley, Operations Director – Sanctuary Supported Living, said: “We nurture our staff through free training, sustainable business practices, and positive working environments. We support people on a journey and whilst we hope they stay with us – we’re proud to be contributing the best of the best to support vulnerable people.

“This award is for each and every employee, our frontline staff and back-office teams pull together to be the best we can be for our customers. I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve received this accolade, which recognises our commitment to residents and staff. While it would be fantastic to win the award at the national finals, I am already so proud of everybody at Sanctuary Supported Living for this achievement.”
