Folkestone and Hythe Rough Sleeper Outreach

Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone CT20 0800 917 0556

Based in the Folkestone and Hythe district, Folkestone and Hythe Rough Sleeper Outreach provides floating support for adults aged 18 and over, who are sleeping rough. We help clients to access the support they need to be able to leave the streets and find secure and sustainable accommodation.

At a glance

  • Support available Monday to Friday, during office hours
  • Tailored and flexible support packages
  • Support through drop-in sessions and face-to-face support at street level

Support

Our staff provide flexible support which is personalised to meet individual needs. We verify the numbers of people sleeping rough in the area, by doing weekly checks where they are bedding down and ensure they can engage with appropriate support services. We then work with clients to help them break the cycle and, where possible, avoid repeat homelessness.

Staff availability

Based at the Folkestone Civic Centre, our highly-trained staff provide homelessness support, Monday to Friday during office hours, in partnership with Folkestone and Hythe District Council’s Housing Options team and other local homelessness support services.

Tailored support, advice and assistance includes

  • Registering at the Civic Centre’s Homelessness Drop-in Service
  • Accessing emergency food supplies
  • Applying for financial support and benefits
  • Securing and maintaining a private tenancy
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Maintaining health, safety and security
  • Reconnecting with family and friends
  • Mediating to alleviate family exclusions
  • Signposting and accessing other services
